We were in a surreal snowy zone high on the moors between Lockerbie and Eskdalemuir when Luke told Adam and me that Don Van Vliet was dead. That was a poignant moment, we were on a crazy mission to play a gig in one of the remotest parts of the UK while the rest of the country was falling apart in weather chaos. The gig went really well.
We all love Captain Beefheart's music. This one's interesting...

ALERT!! First CD Flies Off the Shelf
Well not exactly...it's a pre-order. The CDs are not yet manufactured but it's still money in the Paypal account!
It does feel like a major milestone. While I try not to stress out about artwork, masters, sleeve notes and record label mischief it's good to think that some chilled person has drifted onto the site and clicked the button to reserve their CD.
Groovy!

We're playing at Eden Festival, near Moffat this Saturday afternoon. It's the first public performance for the band so we're all really looking forward to it. It'll be great to catch Roots Manuva, Gill Scott Heron and Pama International too!

New reggae band in Scotland
We started practising last week with a whole bunch of musicians who all want to be a part of turning Brynovsky into a live act.
We have a great rehearsal space and some keen individuals who love their reggae and dub music.
We are fortunate to have...
A drummer who is also a keen dub producer and runs a sound system
An experienced bass player who is multi-skilled (drums, keyboards, studio production, reggae DJ)
An on stage mixer, sample trigger and effects man who also runs a sound system
A young keyboard player with a natural bubble - a roots reggae enthusiast
Oh yes, and I'll be playing guitar.
I'll be posting info about our first gigs soon.

Eponymous albums
I had some ideas for titles for the album but they all seemed pretty lame.
Then we thought that you don't really have to name a debut album. Look at Santana, Paul Weller, Gorillaz, Neu! etc. ...but then your first album becomes known as the 'first album' - it might be what you do when you can't think of a title (passing it off as a tradition for debut albums).
Maybe we can do better... err...
Then our drummer said, "Why not pick a name from one of the tracks..." I thought... "Good idea."

Full tracks preview and Album Release
Full tracks are available for streaming on the website now.
Anyone who's waiting for the album to be released.... it shouldn't be too long now - I know, really!!
We are just finalising the track order and sorting out a myriad of things with the label. I'll post something in a week or two with more information.
We are currently planning a digital and CD release with the brand new label, Air Street.
